Yellow-browed Bulbul

Yellow-green bulbul with a clean face and dark eyes. Inhabits foothill and lower montane forests; often in moist areas. Commonly encountered in pairs or small flocks, but will also join mixed-species flocks. Typically sticks to cover. Song is comprised of cheery whistles mixed with slurred warbles. Calls include warbles, clear “weeeep” notes, and short nasal notes.

Habitat. The Yellow-browed Bulbul is typically found below the forest canopy within the hill forests and plantations of the Western Ghats and Sri Lanka. It also inhabits parts of the Eastern Ghats, including the Kolli hills, Nallamalas, and regions around Tirupathi and Mamandur in Andhra Pradesh.

Yellow-browed bulbuls are found in pairs or small groups and call loudly. They feed mainly on berries and insects.
